MATERIALS: J. & P. COATS "KNIT-CRO-SHEEN," Art. A.64: 1 ball
of No. 46-A Mid Rose. Milwards Steel Crochet Hook No. 7.
Starting at bottom, ch 10. Join with sI st to form ring. 1st
rnd: (Sc in ring, ch 5) 16 times. Do not join.

2nd rnd: * Sc in next loop, ch 5. Repeat from * around.

3rd rnd: Sc in next loop, * ch 4, sc in 3rd ch from hook
(picot made), ch 3, sc in next loop. Repeat from * around.

4th to 13th rnds incl: Repeat 3rd rnd.

14th rnd: * Ch 5, sc in next loop. Repeat from * around.
Join and break off.

ROSETTE . . . Starting at center, ch 10. Join with sI st to
form ring. 1st rnd: (Sc in ring, ch 3) 6 times. 2nd rnd: In
each loop around make sc, half dc, 3 dc, half dc and sc.
Join. 3rd rnd: Sc around bar of sc on first rnd, * ch 5, sc
around bar of next sc. Repeat from * around. Join. 4th rnd:
In each loop around make sc, half dc, 5 dc, half dc and sc.
Join and break off. Sew to soap holder.

CORD . . . Cut 4 strands of thread each 2 yards long, twist
these strands tightly, then double strands and give them a
twist in the opposite direction. Knot free ends. Lace
through last rnd of loops and tie ends securely.


Plaid Soap Holder

MATERIALS: J. & P. COATS "KNIT-CRO-SHEEN," Art. A.64: 1 ball
of No. 126 Spanish Red and a few yards each of No. 43 Dk.
Yellow and No. 12 Black. Milwards Steel Crochet Hook No. 7.

Starting at bottom with Red, make a chain to reach loosely
around soap. 1st row: Dc in 4th ch from hook, * ch 1, skip 1
ch, dc in next ch. Repeat from * across. Ch 4, turn. 2nd
row: Skip first dc, * dc in next dc, ch 1. Repeat from *
across, ending with dc in last dc, ch 1, skip 1 ch, dc in
next ch. Ch 4, turn. Repeat 2nd row until piece is slightly
longer than soap. Break off.

Cut 4 strands of Black each 4 yards long and, working
lengthwise, weave strands through first row, then turn and
weave through 2nd row, working over sts that were worked
under previously. Continue in this manner until all sps have
been filled. Cut off any excess thread and sew ends
securely. Cut 4 strands of Dk. Yellow, each 5 yards long
and, working cross-wise, weave the same way. Sew up side
seam. Sew across bottom.

CORD ... Cut 2 strands each of Red and Black, each 2 yards
long,double strands and loop Red through Black, then twist
strands tightly, double these strands and give them a twist
in the opposite direction, knot free ends. Lace Cord through
last row of sps on soap holder.
