MATERIALS: CLARK’S O.N.T. BRILLIANT. 1 ball. CLARK’S
O.N.T. or J. & P. COATS SIX STRAND EMBROIDERY FLOSS, 1 skein
each of 3 colors, for embroidery. Milward’s Steel Crochet
Hook No. 9.
With Brilliant ch 16. 1st row: S c in 2nd ch from hook, s
c in each ch across. Ch 1, turn.
2nd row: S c in each s c across. Ch 1, turn. Repeat 2nd row
for 5½ inches.
Next row: S c in each s c to within 2 s c from end of row,
skip next s c, s c in last s c. Ch 1, turn. Repeat this row
until 1 s c remains. Fasten off.

EMBROIDERY . . . With 3 strands of 1st color, work 3 lazy
daisy stitch flowers. With full 6 strands of 2nd color, make
several straight stitches at center of each flower. With 3
strands of 3rd color, work 3 stems and a leaf on each stem,
making 5 straight stitches for each leaf.

FRINGE … In each s c along 1st row, make fringe as
follows: Cut 3 strands of Brilliant, each 4 inches long.
Double these strands, forming a loop. Pull loop through st
and draw loose ends of fringe through this loop. Pull tight.
Trim all fringe evenly to 1 inch.
